Medical Science Liaison

Our client is a global pharmaceutical company.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Medical Science Liaison.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Acts as the primary clinical/scientific resource to Health Care Providers in the territory for information pertaining to disease state and the Company’s product(s) to ensure awareness and understanding.
  • Serves as a conduit for accurate and updated clinical, scientific and medical information between thought leaders and the company's Medical Affairs group.
  • Establishes, fosters, cultivates and maintains relationships with thought leaders in the therapeutic areas in which the Company has current and future interests.
  • Shares knowledge and participates in scientific exchanges and interactions with identified thought leaders.
  • Presents clinical, scientific and economic data on the Company’s products and relevant therapeutic areas to formulary decision-makers, as requested.
  • Identifies and communicates key clinical and research issues from industry leaders to appropriate internal partners to shape company research, development, and commercial strategies.
  • Develops and implements business plans to support Medical Affairs strategic direction for assigned region.

 We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  •  An advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) in medical sciences or related field required.
  • Must have 5+ years of relevant experience in a scientific or clinical setting.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience as a clinical/medical science liaison in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
  • Requires knowledge of the pharmaceutical/healthcare market, acceptable practices, and related regulations.
  • Must have an advanced understanding of clinical and medical science; Health Outcomes experience highly preferred.
  • Requires the demonstrated ability to work with software tracking/logging systems.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, and be capable of extended periods of car travel.
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 60%, including overnight and weekend travel.
